I accept edits! I don’t use a proof-reader because I like posting asap, but that’s not because I don’t need one. Feel free to point things out. Even if I don’t decide to use the edit, I do seriously consider each and everyone posted.

    1. yup it’s new, and i’m pretty new to webliterature in general.
I used to be more of a comicker, but got sidetracked with rl. Been dabbling in writing lately after getting some of my creativity back.

      1. Hey first time doing this i wanted to know that if i do your patreon would that speed up the process of a a book you are currently doing and if so how much. Cause i really want more reincarnated as a vending machine so bad like really bad and you are the only one who knows what happens please tell me this is the way

Second can you tell me where you learned to read Japanese i am getting the Rosetta Stone set and i thought you would know since you translate the stuff. Thanks and sorry for being so out there

        Like

      2. 1st; sorry, nothing will speed up the processes because I churn them out as fast as I can with my other time constraints. Currently, though, I’m working out some things that will let me try to get things out faster, so hopefully it all goes well.

2nd: Also sorry. I learned Japanese from mostly watching too much anime with subs, and also 1 semester of Beginner Japanese a long time ago … so I don’t know about aids. I will say, figure out sentence structure first, and the rest will follow more easily since you can immerse yourself in Japanese media.

      3. Okay that makes sense, but i have another question

        1. Okay there is this one light novel that i am dying to have translated. It is called
Reincarnated As a Hot Spring and sadly no one is translating it. If possible, if i were to pay via patreon could you tranlate the book

        2. Hell if its not popular with the people could i pay for it to be translated cause i would do that
i know you said that it wouldnt speed up the process which is not what i am looking for i just want this translated badly i will pay so please consider

      4. That is impossible. The workload is too much, I’m sorry. Have you tried pitching it to novelupdate’s forum?

        Like

      5. Would anyone really accept? I chose you cause i knew you wouldnt judge me for asking such a question. I do not know who would translate this novel since you were my only chance.
I asked cause i knew it was the best chance where you wouldnt think of it as a joke since you translated another novel called Reincarnated into a Vending Machine.
I love that book and i read the first manga chapter of Reincarnated as a Hot Spring. The manga is good but it just doesnt satisfy as much as a light novel.
If you know anything about light novels transitioning into manga’s or anime it isnt so sweet and get skipped alot. And i know people judge books by the covers and the description it has. If you had anyone to recommend I would like to try

But are you sure there is no way for patreon to work? i mean i would pay $100 just for that hell if i have to pay $10 every chapter then i will be fine

      6. They might. There are a lot of people who would be okay with translating ecchi more than I would be, and if there’s a manga translation, there’s at least people interested in it.
I REALLY can’t take on anything else. My life has been busy, and I want to shorten the time between releases I already have. As 1 person writing 3 originals and translating 3 stories, it’s just impossible.

  4. Didn’t realize you were the author of Wizard with the Flower Blades until I read all the chapters yesterday! I definitely have enjoyed it a lot and was surprised I couldn’t find it on novelupdates.com. Please keep up the good work ^_^ Do you have a writing schedule you try to adhere to or is it random at this point? Either way, I’ll just check back periodically but I was curious.

Thank you for writing and translating! =]

    1. Thank you for posting the links, but since my goal for translation is not only to translate but also to learn how to read Japanese, the task of manually inputting the romaji to translate is important.

Thank you, though, and thanks for your work with translations :)

  5. Hi,

    Thanks for Wfb!
Are you interested in putting it into ebook format (e.g. EPUB)? They are nice to use with readers – I use Kindle.
If you are, ping me on email and we can discuss details (I hope it is visible for you).

    D.V.

P.S. As a suggestion from an IT guy – use throw away email. :)

    1. At the moment I’m not looking to “publish” anything since there’s still a lot of editing that everyone’s catching here and there, so it will be something I will leave to consider in the future.
But thank you for bringing that option to my attention.:)

  6. Ah, you misunderstood me, I am not talking about publishing. :)
There are people like me, who like to read using different devices. For myself I have already made ebook, so I thought why not make it a better quality if you want it.

    1. I’m under the impression that it’s difficult to edit ebook files after releasing them, so for now I’m going hold off on it. I AM sorry that it’s not as convenient for ereaders atm, but since turning them into pdfs/epub is essentially like publishing them, I will wait until some time later in the future.

      1. It is not that hard, but it does take some work to do. But here I am suggesting that I will do it, because I like your work. After all I already did it for myself, but low quality.
But again if you don’t want it, I am not going to force you.

Again, thanks for your work! :)

P.S. I also don’t need anything for it. For me this would be something for fun.

This is a thing that i want to do, and while I’d be comfortable not being allowed to do it, I would really like to have some sort of answer. Even a yes or no would suffice, so please.

      1. Sorry, I didn’t have internet access last weekend, and then, like you suspected, I forgot.
I guess I’m ok with it. My only thing is that the perfectionist in me would like to go through and edit everything, but since the procrastinator in me will probably do it a decade from now, there’s no point in waiting for it, so go ahead.
I only ask that you put the link, give credit, yadayada, BUT ALSO, keep at least 10 chapters behind my updates, as an incentive for other people to check out my site.
That last part might be weird, but please just humor my neuroses, lol. Otherwise, I don’t really care about the little details like monetary crap, although if I ever get my sht together to make an ebook out of it, I would ask for you to link that too… well, that’s so up in the air that it might be pointless to mention now.

As for the other matter, I like to do the readings blind, and since I’m already reading(and loving) wfb, I’m really only left with one option.

      1. Just thought I’d note this, but there are several groups I read from that get the translation done by the time they said, then the editor goes through and the post gets updated with the cleaned up version. Could maybe work if someone wants to be an editor that way.

  15. I don’t know if you’ll care, but I just felt like throwing this out there: You are a great translator and an even better writer!
It’s been a really long time since a story felt as fresh to me as Wfb does – it uses very common tropes, yet somehow still manages to feel new and exciting, or “creative”, in other words. Hell, I binged the thing in half a day! (a choice I deeply regret now, as a matter of fact.)
Don’t stop translating! Don’t stop drawing! And most of all, don’t stop writing! I love all that shit!

  16. Hi, I was wondering if you’ve considered making a Discord server.

I love your translations and having a Discord server where you can notify people when you post a new chapter would be super convenient for keeping up with them. It would also be a quick and easy way to make anouncements to everyone. I think it would also be effective at engaging your reader base, since we would be able to chat and discuss the new chapters when come out.

Making a server is really simple, so I could even do it for you if you wanted. You would only have to send a message there saying that you uploaded a new chapter after you put it up on here. Obviously you could also chat with us and do anything else, but you wouldn’t have to if you didn’t want to.

If you haven’t already, please cobsider making a Discord!

  17. Can I ask why you seem to have stopped translating ‘A Certain Middle-Aged Man’s VRMMO Activity Log’? I might be listed here somewhere but somehow thought it would be on the “About” page or comments on said page. I see its still listed up there as “Being Translated” but hasnt been touched since January. Its the story the led me to this site which has some good things on it, so really curious.

I see you have found a new program but if you are still looking have you tried “Open Office”?You can use it as a substitute for any MS office, and it is somewhat compatible allowing the use of the .dox and other MS exclusive file types.

    Hope this helps.

  22. Heya!

Just wanted to check in to tell you how much I love your work, still. I’ve been following your stuff for literal years now, if under different names all the time, but in light of this less than glorious last year I felt like actually telling you about it, for once. In more than just short donation messages.
I feel like you deserve to read the praise I’ve been thinking for so long now.

I found you through OVRMMO way back, but to be honest: Nowadays I don’t really read the translations anymore, simply because your originals outshine them so much.

Your original stories, particularly wfb, have managed to capture me in this peculiar way for years now and just won’t let go.

It’s a loop: I’ll binge the entire thing in one or two days, feel kind of empty but even more interested in the story than before, and then forget all about it. 5 or 6 months later, I will be reminded of this site out of nowhere (really, completely out of nowhere) come back and repeat the cycle.
    It’s positively astounding.

I have a huge library on bookwalker with isekai titles and whatnot and haven’t read half of them. I have a steam library with 500 games and haven’t played most of them. (I still haven’t finished Witcher 3 goddammit) I have a huge bookshelf with books I have only ever at most read once.

I rarely finish stories and I never reread them. Usually.

I genuinely don’t know why I like your stories so much, but all of them resonate with me in ways that books that are objective masterpieces just don’t. I guess yours just have more heart, to me.

I think I cried at cursed, which is supposed to be a simple RomCom. Hell, you said it started as a harem!
    I cried! Why??

I never expected any of this. I wanted some light entertainment out of a translated light novel and now I’m stuck here.

Everytime I reread wfb I think “Ha! It won’t get me this time! I know EXACTLY what happens! It’s just a clichéd light novel!”

    But it’s not, is it?

I think I just really love your worlds, or, perhaps more importantly, your characters. It’s a mystery how you manage to make me love them so much everytime, but they always manage to reel me back in.

If you ever stopped writing I’d still gravitate back here for years. If you published a book I would buy it in a heartbeat.

You’ve gotten me utterly, irresponsibly invested in what were supposed to be light entertainment stories.

Thank you. Thank you so much. You’re really cool.
