Announcement: No longer translating Cheat Pharmacist

The author has taken down Cheat Pharmacist from syosetsu so I’m going to stop translating it.
It doesn’t seem to be on alphapolis, so … if anyone wants to take over, good hunting (‘-‘*ゞ

tbh I was kind of losing interest, so I’m not too bothered by it. The cheap laughs were wearing me down and I was considering dropping it anyway.

I’ll just double down on … vending machine? Sure. Let’s go with vending machine for now.

  1. Not that I hated it, but it’s admirable that you kept translating it as long as you did. Well, I probably shouldn’t say anything, being one of those snooty types who only read your original works anyway. 😛

    1. I mean, who can blame you for that? KlinH’s creations are masterpieces IMO. Some of my favorite things to read, came to Honyaku for Middle Age VRMMO Log, stayed for WFB, Fluvia, Oristo, and his random short works.

    2. Agreed, I mostly came here for the original works, only using the translated ones on novel updates to know that there was a new update here

    3. I know this was a while back, but I just thought of how I wanted to reply to it when I read it back then because I wasn’t able to put into a very concrete manner. Basically, Cheat Pharmacist and Kujonin(and Vending Machine to a lesser degree) don’t really tie together the events happening in the world, short and long term goals(of the protagonists, antagonists, secondary characters, and the author) as well as many of the original works seem to do. I suspect the work necessary to make the originals have that cohesion is a large part why some(probably affects all of them, but still) of the originals take a while for updates. The originals on this site(to be honest, I reread the two comics linked decently often too) are definitely the variety of story that I enjoy enough to go back and read from the start to try and get my fix of the story/characters/worlds.

    1. Haha, came to suggest the same thing. I came for OVRMMO and stayed for the originals. We are all the same mind, cheers!

    2. yes! more WFB!

i mean, i kinda dropped kujonin, the novelty of the vending machine is starting to wear off, and i never really followed any of the others

which means i come visit here mainly for WFB! need more of those if you ask me, and even if you don’t ask!

  3. Pity, I liked that one. But if it’s not where you can get it, you can’t really translate it. And it’s not why I came here. I started with the Ossan’s VRMMO Diary, drifted into Kujonin and Pharmacy, but also ended up enjoying your Cursed and Baiyi…

  4. A bit unfortunate since I enjoyed the story to an extent, but I suppose that I wasn’t too attached to the majority of the characters anyways.

  5. I am very sorry that the translation will not continue. This was one of my favorite novels. Thanks to the translator for all 38 chapters. I hope you will soon reconsider your decision and resume the translation. With respect and gratitude…

  6. Thanks for translating what you did!
Something of a disclaimer: I often have things that I want to say to translators but I can almost never find a way to say them without sounding rude, so I want you to know that if what I’m about to say sounds rude, then my sincerest apologies. It was not meant to sound like that. Also I don’t want to come off as if I’m trying to get you to do something (for instance picking the novel back up just because I said I was dissapointed)

I personally didn’t find the novel to be annoying or rather I didn’t get tired of the humor just yet. I can definitely see how someone would though. I suppose I haven’t yet because I’ve only been reading this for a few hours at most. I’m also a little dissapointed because this seems like something that I could read for a few hours and then stop and come back to it after a week or two simply due to the fact that it’s pretty simple. (storyline/plot-wise) there are a few books that I have more or less dropped reading because they were long and I couldn’t read the same thing day in and day out, but they needed it if you wanted to keep track of characters and plot points and things like that. I also want to note that I realize you had little choice in the matter of dropping this book(as the author took it down), but I’m still a little dissapointed. (to be fair though, I don’t know about your update schedule, but this definitely doesn’t seem like a one chapter weekly type of book.)

I would like to once again thank you for translating this, and I guess I’m going to go find something else to read now . . . Thanks and have a good life!
